A Scary Thought... Or I guess perhaps 'Scary Dream'?

Okay, I was debating on writing a post tonight, but I thought that I would post this instead of normally posting my views on the game, since I believe that letting this out could change the outcome of this series.

As freaky as this may all sound to most, it’s freaking me out too quite honestly.

So getting back to the point, we’ll just have to rewind back a bit to the night before Game 2 in this series. That night I had a dream that the Blackhawks win 4 – 3. In the beginning I figured that this outcome would be the score of Game two that following evening.

But once I noticed that night it was a 4 – 3 win for the Canucks that's when a terrible thought came to mind. I began to worry that this 4 – 3 win wasn’t going to be the score of a game within this series but the outcome of the actual series. In the Blackhawks favour of winning 4 games to the Canucks 3 game wins. Every clue matched to lead me to believe this now, since in my dream it was the Blackhawks celebrating a big win in their white jerseys in our building.

So now that this is all said, all I can do is hope that this dream will not come true.

I have been told before that if there is a dream that you do not want to come true, you speak of it, out loud. And I hope that doing just that this outcome will not happen. The Canucks have worked too hard to be cut short. Let's go Canucks!

In hopes of a little inspiration...

Here are my words of wisdom for the Canucks,

When there is no failure, there is no success.

Canucks... I still BELIEVE!

Time to wake up and smell the coffee...

Alright, now like many other Canucks fans including myself, we are all not very happy with the performance last night.

So now trying to be the optimist I am going to see this loss as something like that slump of the last two regular season games against the Edmonton Oilers. Granted the Oil didn't beat the Canucks like the Blackhawks did in these previous two games, outscoring 12 - 2 combined. With that unthinkable thought in mind, I questioned myself,

"Where is the team that everyone loves?"

Because I sure don't see it and sure hope that this series DOES NOT come to a game 7! It may be a game at home, but that is not on our minds right now. All we want is for our team is to succeed.

As I continue on thinking about what else to write, nothing more than remarks and comments made prior to the playoffs to now come to mind. Some that are coming to mind at the moment were from Ex-Canuck Kyle Wellwood, Ex-Flame Theo Fleury and quite notably pretty the whole of the Blackhawks team.

With all these remarks stuck in my head, all of them having the same meaning, and sadly I'm slowly starting to believe they are all right. I'm not proud that I'm saying it, while above I mention that I'm trying to be an optimist about my favourite team, I know I'm not holding up my bargain there.

At the end of the day though, I'm still going to hold out for them.

7 Goals Too Many...

It wasn't the best of games tonight and let's hope that hearing Chelsea Dagger that many times puts so sort of fire into the Canucks!

I don't think there is much more that I would like to say right at the moment but our history comes in three's.

Who's THE Team?...

WHOOO!!

It was 'VAN-TASTIC'!

( Unfortunately that isn't my word, I just saw it on NHL.com and liked it. )

It was another good game for the Canucks tonight! Both teams played hard, but we played just that little bit harder!

With four amazing goals (Jannik Hansen and Alex Edler with one and Daniel Sedin with two!) Plus Daniel and Henrik combined have 5 points!

This is getting to be a really exciting series!!! I can't wait for the next game! Look out Chicago, here we come!!

WHOOOOO!! ...

First off, it's been awesome to see all the Canucks jerseys around the city today! It’s sad to realize now that the regular season is really over and that we are only in the last couple months of the hockey season, but this has got to be the most anticipated part of the season!

Yeah! I can’t wait; there is less than 30 minutes before the puck drops in Rogers arena!! And I also excited to hear that Cody Hodgson and Victor Oreskovich are back in Vancouver, plus hearing that this is the first time Keith Ballard gets to play in the playoffs!!! It’s so exciting!

Finally! …

Finally, I get to update my newest blog! I haven’t been able to update this weekend as much as I’d like to, since I was in an area where I had no wi-fi connection. Can’t say it was all that bad, kind of nice to get away from all the electronic devices, but in today’s day and age, everyone’s life revolves around technology. And the for counting today and yesterday... one word, school.

Anyways, now back on topic of my favourite hockey team, the Vancouver Canucks! I heard before I left for my little trip this weekend that the coaching staff decided to let Cory Schneider start the last regular game of the season. I've got say that I was so happy… but just sad that I wouldn’t be able to watch it. But I was able to get to see a few highlights of Saturday night's game. A 3 - 2 win in OT! (54 - 19 - 9 = 117pts!!)

It’s a win, but I do still come to the conclusion that it isn’t the kind of win they’d like, but I think it being the last game of their regular season they can’t be too picky… IT’S STILL A WIN!

So... that's it right now about my views on the Canucks last regular season game on Saturday night against the Flames at the Saddledome. I hope that I'll be right back here tomorrow night, just in time for the first night of the first round of the PLAYOFFS!!!

CORY SCHNEIDER

Schnieder in action against the Oilers at Rogers on January 7, 2011.
6 - 1 win for the Canucks.

A LITTLE INFO

Position: Goaltender
Catches: Left
Number: 35
Height: 6’2”
Born: March 18
Drafted: VAN / 2004 – 1st Round, 26th Overall

THE STATS...

15 – 4 – 2
GAA: 2.25
SV%: .928
SO: 1

MY FIRST THOUGHTS...

Now that we're heading off into the last 2 games of this regular season with the last home game at Rogers tonight against the Wild and then to the Saddledome in Calgary v. the Flames on Saturday.

Along with many other Schneider fans, I'm sure that we would like to see him make at least one more start. And in my own personal opinion I know this guy deserves it.

Taking a look at his stat's this season (and it's only his first NHL season!), they have been identical to Luongo's. Athough no one can't say that it much of a surprise, since they both have similar plays and both are training with goaltending coach, Roland Melanson. Besides, like Cory has been saying throughout this season is that he has been working hard to earn each of the starts he has got, and it shows.

MY FINAL RANT...

Finally, to finish it with a cherry on top, I can honestly say that I was peeved to hear this just moments before the game against the Oil came to an end.

With quite literally, seconds left on the clock in the 3rd period the Canucks decide to put Cory in net, instead of a sixth skater. Yes, it is an appearance, it is a good gesture and there's word buzzing around that he will get his name on the Jennings Trophy, as they will try to give him [Schneider] his 25 appearances (not starts) to qualify.

So, to conclude my rant I just want to say again... let Schneider have one more start and I hope all Canucks fans would agree with me that he is well worthy.

NOW AS WE BLAZE OUR PATH INTO THE 2011 NHL PLAYOFFS...

HISTORY WILL BE MADE.

"What if the Canucks didn’t make Cory wait for 6 years?"

GO CANUCKS GO!

Wednesday, April 6, 2011

Sadly, it's another post out on a bad note...

Well... I may not have been able to watch last night's game, but I was still aware of the outcome.

It is disappointing that it was a back to back loss against bottom ranked team in the NHL.

Okay, so there were not as many goals against the Canucks Luongo last night, but they didn't even get on the scoreboard last night.

I'm not fretting though... I know this team will come back up and be back into the shape they were in before these last two games.

The Game is on!

Well, just before 6 p.m. I began to flip through the channels on my t.v. to only find that I do not have the right channel to watch my favourite game. :( But thank goodness for Canucks Radio: Team 1040.

Just a quick post...

Just now I remembered it was the Canucks starting goaltender's birthday today.

So here is a 'Happy Birthday' wish to Lu!

First Post....

So... I guess this is going to be my first post, and I know I should have started this blog earlier, since I’m claiming to be a ‘Canuck Addict’ … but really, starting a blog like this never really occurred to me… until now.

And although I hate that this blog is not necessarily coming off on such a nice start, I have a feeling though, that in the coming weeks I will be writing about all the highs (and nothing but all highs) that will be coming to our team in the coming weeks.

Okay... So I am most definitely no Derek Jory or Kevin K, but here in my words, here are my views on last night’s game.

As it is well known by now that the Canucks (and us the fans) had to endure a hard and surprising loss to the Oil at Rogers last night –and I’m sad that it had to happen for my favourite Canuck goaltender – but by doing so, yes, we may have given them something to be happy about as it is their first win against the Canucks this season. It is a loss that would be much desired to be erased from our memory as it came nearing the end of such an amazing season, but it’s nothing we should be dwelling on. So now onto the rest of the game that lifted my spirits!

It was definitely amazing to hear that Manny was able to come out to watch the game and I wish him nothing but the best in his recovery. Plus I was so stoked to see that Tanner Glass is finally back on the ice! Also I know I can't leave out Chris Tanev and Yann Sauve. And even though this kinda sorta goes back to the sad factor when I heard that Tanev wasn’t playing tonight, I was happy to hear that they chose to bring Sauve to back in.

NOW HOPEFULLY THIS CAN SPARK A LITTLE MORE INSPIRATION…

So, after watching last night’s game, I see that it will make the Canucks nothing but stronger than before as a team and as a whole. All I can do is hope that everyone -the team and the fans included- can realize this as well, that they have clearly earned it, based on everything that has been accomplished throughout this outstandingly fantastic year. From showing a new kind of maturity being brought to the ice to battling through all the bumps, the bruises, the concussions, the broken bones and everything else that has plagued them throughout the year they still came out on top and didn't allow any of it to diminish any hopes.

Now to finish off with a little rant about all the never-ending criticism coming from those who still have doubts about this team not yet having the ability to win Lord Stanley… Although it may be everywhere and that it's coming from every which direction, I believe it to be all just adding more fuel to an already blazing fire, as I notice it is only making them strive even harder to reach the one goal that is most meaningful.

The Canucks have truly found the recipe for a winning team.

AND FINALLY...

I BELIEVE IN OUR CANUCKS!!!
